Expert Phaco Surgery at Vikas Memorial Eye Hospital, Chaksu

Phacoemulsification (Phaco Surgery) is the most advanced and widely used technique for cataract removal. At Vikas Memorial Eye Hospital, Chaksu, we use the latest generation Phaco machine for stitch-free, painless cataract surgery with outstanding outcomes and minimal recovery time.

Symptoms & When to Consult

  • Progressive clouding of vision
  • Glare and halos around lights at night
  • Colors appearing dull or faded
  • Difficulty reading or watching TV
  • Needing brighter light for daily tasks
  • Double or blurred vision

Treatment Process

Phaco surgery uses ultrasound energy to break up and emulsify the cataract-affected lens. Through a micro-incision of just 2 to 3 mm, the Phaco probe is inserted into the eye.

The probe emits ultrasound waves to break the cloudy lens into tiny fragments, which are then suctioned out. A premium foldable IOL is injected through the same tiny incision and unfolds inside the eye.

The micro-incision is self-sealing and requires no stitches. The entire procedure takes about 15 to 20 minutes and patients typically go home the same day.

Benefits

  • Stitch-free procedure
  • Extremely fast recovery
  • Minimal post-operative discomfort
  • Same-day discharge
  • No hospital admission required
  • Rapid restoration of vision
  • Suitable for all types of cataracts

Recovery

Recovery after Phaco Surgery is very fast. Most patients see clearly within 24 to 48 hours. Protective eye drops are prescribed for 4 to 6 weeks.

Patients can typically resume most normal activities within 2 to 3 days. Avoid swimming, heavy lifting, and eye rubbing for 4 weeks.
